Why is it that having “No Religion” is seen as being in a negative position whereas believing in mythology is perceived as a positive?
can i not just write “flying spaghetti monster” ? or “invisible Pink unicorn”?
Hi Loris, if you write flying spaghetti monster or invisible pink unicorn in the census then your answer to the religion question is interpreted as “not stated” by the CSO and will not be counted in the no religion group. This will have the overall effect of reducing the number of people counted as having no religion.
Are you saying that if I tick ‘other’ and write in the space provided, my answer will be disregarded? Do you have any evidence that this is the case? Why is that option there?
Your answer won’t be disregarded but it will be lumped in with the not stated as seen in the last census here
